QR: What you can see from the farm gatepost

What you see is a vineyard planted 25 years ago with 3 varieties Madeleine Angevine on west, Rondo in the middle and Orion in the east of the vineyard. It has always been certified organic with the SA. Remember you can buy the wine at Hartley Farm shop along the way and at Waitrose.

The harvest takes place from Sept to October and we currently sell the grapes to a winery in Cornwall and then buy back some wine for our tour groups. The next work is the pruning back of the old canes to allow the plants to die back and encourage new growth next spring. Once the pruning is finished we will chop up the prunings with a flail mower to act as a mulch. Do look into the website www.quoinsvineyard.co.uk for more details.
