We finished harvesting the last of the three grape varieties on Monday. We aim to harvest each variety in a day and get it off to the winery the same evening. This year all three days were warm and sunny, and we had a good clean crop with barely any disease. The yield was 3.3 tonnes, equivalent to 5.8 tonnes/ha, so I can’t complain. We have a good band of local pickers who are now quite adept and quick, with no cut fingers.
